With the JD100 CD player, we have decided that extensive modifications to the circuitry is not necessary. We have been holding off in releasing this unit until we had more feedback from our customers on exactly what they wanted from this already exceptional machine. What we found out was that most people did not want to loose the seductive nature of the tube output stage but would like to see a bit more texture and resolution. After experimenting with the JD100, we found that it would not take much to give the people what they wanted and at an affordable price.  We decided not to replace everything in the player as it took this unit to a different place away from what it is meant to be........ a seductive yet refined tube player. It also brought it far out of the price point we wanted to maintain. When you start looking at close to $2k, there are many new options available. 

 

With our very simple yet highly effective upgrades, we were able to provide listeners with an emotionally involving presentation that maintains the seductive tube nature while improving even further the transparency and resolution of the midrange and upper end frequencies. A new sense of realism, texture and refinement is now added to the presentation. The low end provides more body while remaining tight. What we are offering is a change in the output stage coupling capacitors that will provide the listener with many years of musical nirvana without any signs of harshness or fatigue. A CD player that will keep you involved with the music!

• First stage output coupling capacitors replaced with a newly designed OIMP "Oil impregnated metalized polypropylene" capacitor by V-Cap.

• VH Audio OIMP capacitors also located in the second stage of the output.

• Second stage output capacitors are then bypassed with a smaller value Teflon capacitor.

• Tubes upgraded to  high quality Russian 12AX7s.

• Damping material applied to the chassis, lid and transport
