The bad
news first:
As we are all aware of, the value of the US dollar has declined
up to 40% over the past year. We have also seen rise in fuel cost as
well as precious metals. How does this effect our industry you ask?
Audio products are manufactured with many precious metals such as
aluminum, copper, steel and in some cases gold. Unfortunately,
metals need petroleum (oil) products to be manufactured and with a
barrel of oil now at nearly $120 a barrel.....well you get the idea.
Have you looked at the price of copper wiring lately? Think of how
much copper is used to manufacture the transformers used in audio
products....... ouch.
Then there is
the cost of freight for us to bring in the components used in the
manufacturing our products. These components are brought in from all
over the world and we obviously have to pay the freight cost. Let's
think about the weight of bringing in dozens of amplifiers chassis
outfitted with large, heavy transformers. Obviously ships, airplanes
and trucks need to fuel to run so they can deliver our components to
us and of course the finish product to you.
It all adds
up.
Now some
good news:
Response Audio has made a collaborated effort to try and
maintain the lowest possible pricing for our product line. While we
can no longer absorb all these price increases, we are doing our
best to continue providing you with exceptional value. Take our
Audio Note Custom products for example. Our cost on these has gone
up nearly 20% in just the past few months but we are not going to
pass this cost over to you the consumer. We will absorb this
increase as we do not want to see the audio community loose interest
due to overwhelming cost increases. We have also decided to
come out with more affordable versions of some of these pieces
starting with the new Audio Note L2
Standard linestage.
Please
don't misunderstand our position as we are always working on
advanced products for those not so heavily effected by our current
state of affairs. Keep your eyes (and ears) out for our soon to be
released Musica Bella 'Musicale' dual mono phono/linestage, Musica
Bella SG Series speaker cable line and further high-end loudspeaker
offerings.

As of 2/21/08, Almarro does not have a US distributor or any stock
of product in the US at this time. Response Audio does not have any
stock of any of the Almarro products and cannot order any further
product at this time. If things change, we will post further
information here.
Starting January 2008, all Bella EXtreme exclusive products and
modifications will be assembled using a new high quality, lead free
RoHS compliant silver solder.
