New Product Upgrades for 2008

We are currently working on upgrades for the following products; These products already offer exceptional value and very well built. Our customers have been so impressed with these products that they continue to contact us asking if we can take them even further.

Please note that we are not a reseller for these products and they would have to be purchased from Pacific Valve and sent to us for the upgrades. If you already own either the MHZS CD 88 or BADA DC 222 and would like to be the first to send it in for us to develop the upgrades, we will accommodate you with "beta" pricing (this is how the MHZS CD66E ended up on our benches). This special pricing good only for the first person to step up to the plate.

The Shuguang CD 208 - Upgrades now available for this unit.

Vacuum Tube CD player from the same company that makes audiophile praised KT88, 6550 and 12AX7 tubes that achieve rave Shuguang CD208B HDCD CD player adds the luxurious sound of vacuum tubes to the engineering and does not use OP AMPS in the circuit path. In addition to its top-notch performance with standard CDs, the Shuguang CD 208B also scores with high-resolution HDCD discs.

MHZS CD 66E - This one is currently on our work benches

Solidly built weighing over 30 lbs from MHZS audio comes a top loading Vacuum tube CD player, the CD 66,  that sets a new standard in CD playback.  Equipped with 2 12AX7 vacuum  tubes, the CD 66 extracts every last detail from Compact Disk.  The CD MHZS CD 66 uses MHZS’ proprietary 24 bit DAC chip, capable of a sampling frequency of up to 192 kHz, offers the linearity needed for its built in upsampling capabilities. The upsampling may be selected directly from your remote control.  You have the option of selecting a the standard frequency of 44.1 kHz, upsample to 88.2 kHz  or choose the upsampling frequency of 176.4 kHz.

MHZS CD 88 - Coming Soon

The MHZS CD 88 is the answer to audiophiles who still yearn for the sound of vinyl but enjoy the convenience of CDs. The 4 vacuum tube technology blends the warmth of classic tube sound with the benefits of cutting-edge circuitry.


MHZS CD 88 uses two 12AX7s for signal processing, a 6Z4 and WY2 tube for rectification. Along with the CD 33, and the CD 66, the MHZS uses its own chip design, which allows for filtering, conversion and upsampling in one single chip. This greatly contributes to the unmistakable sound of this CD player. The special low pass filter contributes to the pure and natural tonal quality that breathes new life into every CD. Selecting the upsampling frequencies on these players allows you to change the characteristics of the digital filter The fully balanced design with high-quality XLR-type connections takes maximum advantage of the MHZS’s impressive audio capabilities.

BADA DC 222 - This one is currently on our work benches

This is a great value selling for only $599. Another modified version of this amplifier sells for upwards of $5K but that is a complete redesign of the product from a long standing industry guru. If you are looking in the $5k market, you may want to take a look at it. Response Audio will bring an EXtreme upgraded version of this amplifier to you for a very reasonable price, well under $2,000, and is not to be mistaken as a complete redesign.

Stock Details:
From BADA DC222, a vacuum tube hybrid integrated amplifier with 95 watts per channel, 4 inputs, soft start, record out and ALPS motor volume control.  All guts are truly high end and no skimping on great components. The 12AU7 tubes are shielded with metal cams that are grounded to the chassis. Dual transformers feed the tubes and transistors for an effortless 95 watts / channel into 8 ohms and 190 / watts into 4 ohms. The circuit layout is state-of-the-art with  R-type and torodial  transformers and  Wima, Solen capacitors. Comes with remote control.

Ming-Da MC 2A3 Full Vacuum Tube Preamp

Do to our many years of involvement modifying Ming-Da products, we have been receiving a lot of inquiries on this piece. Everyone states it is an exceptional preamp offering a seductive yet detailed presentation. I have not yet been inside one of these but if you would like to be the first to send one in, we will go through it and come up with some upgrades to enhance it even further bringing out even more of it's potential.
