Ever
wonder why vintage tube gear built in the
40's and 50's is still running today? The
answer is simple..... proper building
techniques and point to point wiring.
Response Audio uses only the proper assembly
techniques in all Musica Bella products.
Point to point wiring, minimal electrolytic
capacitors
and no
circuit boards.
Why no circuit
boards? Printed circuits are nothing more
than extremely thin copper wires glued to a
material such as fiberglass. These traces
can heat up the glue, lift and destroy the
circuit if too much heat is applied.
Printed circuit
boards also do not provide a proper ground
as it is usually a run of copper surrounding
the copper board. In all Musica Bella
products we use only a star ground technique
that provides a lower noise floor resulting
in a quieter background.
If any of our
products ever need any servicing or
upgrading, our assembly techniques allow us
to do this in a timely fashion.
So what's the
deal with electrolytic capacitors? Whenever
possible, we try to use quality film
capacitors rather than electrolytic
capacitors.
Especially in the power supply. This is not
foo-foo dust or snake oil, poly film caps sound better
than electrolytic capacitors in most
applications giving our products the sound
audiophiles and music lovers have been
falling in love with for so many years.
In the end,
Musica Bella products are designed to
provide you with musical bliss for decades.
This is also why we are confident enough in
our products to stand behind a 5 year parts
and labor warranty. A nice switch from all
the "throw-away" products with 1 year
limited warranty currently overwhelming the
audio industry.
Whenever possible, many of these assembly
techniques are followed in our Audio Note
Custom products as well. Preamplifiers,
DAC's and Phono Stages all utilize the no
electrolytic philosophy in the power supply
where only quality film caps are used in
critical applications. Star
grounding and shortest signal paths are also
part of the assembly of Audio Note Custom
products.
