has been working with the S-520 for some time now with many variations being
designed and tested. The latest "Silver & Oil" series has proven to the the
absolute Ultimate arrangement while still maintaining exceptional value.
Below you will find a list of upgrades performed in our "Silver & Oil"
upgrade for the S-520 & S-525.
The heart and
soul of our "Silver & Oil" upgrades is the VH Audio
OIMP (Oil impregnated metalized polypropylene) capacitors

VH Audio V-Cap OIMP (oil impregnated metalized
polypropylene) capacitors used throughout the high pass filter.

Mills 12 watt non-inductive resistors will also be
used throughout the x-over.

All internal wiring will be 14 awg DH Labs Silver

Most of the original cabinet damping will be
removed in favor of a combination of a thick felt and a predetermined
amount of carded wool for a more true-to-life presentation.

Custom tailoring of the crossover. Basically, this
is a custom arrangement for the attenuation of the tweeter to meet the
desired personal listening habits of the end user.

- The amazing little gem!
After many hours of listening to this speaker, we decided to offer a very
affordable yet effective upgrade. Not to change its presentation but to
enhance it even further. The S-520 is an exceptional speaker without being
touched. Out of the box it will amaze you with its sonic qualities. You will
also not find another speaker in this price category with this kind of build
quality. What this simple upgrade provides is more texture in the midrange
and airiness up top. We have had a few customers take these little gems to
the extreme with over-the-top upgrades with the results being, as one owner
put it, "astonishing".
